About us

Dom:

I work in the digital media industry (search marketing) to be exact and the thing I look forward to on weekends is jet skiing.
I remember the days when we would have a big family event down at Cabarita and we would go jet skiing all the way to the harbour bridge and my dad would tell me stories about how our family had helped build the harbour bridge.

To take away a luxury like that is just disappointing, these memories will be there forever but my kids will not have the same pleasure. I want to change this not only for my kids but for everyone’s kids. It’s ridiculous that we have to settle for jet skiing areas such as Georges River where the water is disgusting, the beaches are filled with syringes, is this a place for your kids? I don’t think so.

I heard a guy got rushed to hospital because he stepped on a syringe, is this something the government wants? Do they want people to be cramped in a small spot waiting for a accident to happen? Stepping on syringes with god knows what sort of disease?

These are the things that upset me, this is why we want to be heard and we won’t stop until we have been treated fairly.

Let it be clear that whatever your sport (jet skiing, boating, fishing, soccer, tennis,
basketball) there will always be a minority that spoil the fun ALWAYS, so does this mean we ban everyone? NO, we ban those minority because fairly they are the ones who should be punished not everyone else, that’s just discrimination.

Sam:

Professionally I work in the IT industry (systems engineer) on the weekends I enjoy taking out my jet ski with friends, socialising, partying, everything and anything.

I can never forget the countless weekends spent down on the Parramatta River with my family & friends on Christmas, Birthdays and special occasions enjoying a picnic, barbeque & most importantly the Jet Ski. The Jet Ski was a way of bringing the family together as it was an enjoyable pass time.

When the ban was introduced my parents sold the Jet Ski as it wasn’t used as much as when the skis were allowed on the Harbour.

The trips to Bundeena, Brighton Le Sands & Georges river were time consuming & wasn’t as convenient for the family to get to.  It is just too unsafe to take a family out jet skiing these days. We have all been crammed into a few little bays. Bays that are filled with rubbish and syringes

The ban has not just affected me but many of the local businesses, communities and individuals, & the Jet Ski industry. So let’s all work together to help get this ban lifted we will only be heard in numbers.
